Will Provide SQL Server Design for High Profile/Volume Internet Commerce Site
Los Angeles, Calif. -- AMULET Consulting is pleased to announce its selection by
ASUCLA (Associated Students of UCLA) to provide Microsoft SQL Server database design
and back-office software development services for the expansion of the UCLA Store
electronic commerce Web site.
The enhanced site, currently operating at www.uclastore.ucla.edu, will contain over
1.5 million books in print accessible through a sophisticated, state-of-the-art
searching and browsing mechanism based around the Microsoft Merchant Server commerce
product. The site will be similar in nature to the famed Amazon site, but tailored
for the educational marketplace. UCLA was selected by Microsoft to be a high-profile
user and beta tester Merchant Server early on in the product's development. AMULET
is proud to be associated with both UCLA and Microsoft in building a commerce site
of such magnitude.
The UCLA Store site project will gain benefit from AMULET's specialty of building
corporate Internet and Intranet applications that include database connectivity
components. In this pursuit, AMULET's active-content, database enabled sites focus
on the Intel/Windows NT 4.0 Web server hardware/software platform using contemporary
development tools including Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP), Internet Information
Server (IIS) 3.0, SQL Server 6.5, ActiveX, ODBC 3.0, Java, JDBC, JavaScript/JScript,
and VBScript, for the Netscape Navigator 3.0 and Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0
browsers. The company also provides Web server hosting and database administration
services for active content corporate sites.
