Los Angeles, Calif. -- AMULET Development Corp. is pleased to announce the re-launch of the e-commerce website for Salsbury Industries: www.mailboxes.com. Established in 1936, Salsbury Industries is the industry leader in manufacturing and distributing quality residential and commercial mailboxes and lockers. Over the past several years, the company has seen online sales account for an increased percentage of overall revenue. As a result, the company made the strategic investment to advance its e-commerce technology in order to accommodate the steadily increasing number of Internet customers. The project goals were two-fold, upgrading and enhancing the e-commerce software, as well as expanding the hardware/hosting infrastructure.

AMULET upgraded the e-commerce software to Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 Standard Edition. The upgrade process involved re-developing custom product catalog features, data conversion to the revised Commerce Server 2002 transactional database schema, and adding new administrative functionality to supplement the Business Desk application. AMULET also managed the upgrade of the website analytics solution to Webtrends Analytics 8.

The infrastructure part of the project involved the use of a significantly improved hardware platform, complete with multi-processor Windows Server 2003 servers for web and database services, plus terabyte-level online storage. The site is now hosted at a leading co-location provider with expansion potential to address additional infrastructure needs as the Salsbury Industries online business continues to grow.
