Database-Driven Intranet Application for Student Recruitment
Los Angeles, Calif. -- AMULET Development Corp. is pleased to announce its selection
by the Office of Recruitment and Outreach at the UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture
or “UCLA Arts” for custom Web development services in support of the department’s
student recruitment process. The department contracted with AMULET to build the
new Inquiry Tracking System (ITS) intranet software application where specific art
department staff members may enter and track student inquiries regarding educational
programs. The software will include custom database design, Web data entry forms,
database queries, and reports designed to streamline and improve the efficiency
of the student recruitment process. The new database application will be designed
to save costs associated with staff resources while increasing efficiency and accuracy
for this important functional area within the department.
UCLA Arts is dedicated to training exceptional artists, performers, architects and
scholars who are enriched by a global view of the arts and prepared to serve as
cultural leaders of the 21st century. The school offers undergraduate degree programs
in its Departments of Art, Design, Ethnomusicology, Music, and World Arts and Cultures.

AMULET’S Development Services
AMULET plans to automate the student inquiry tracking process by developing the
new ITS database-driven Web software application using the Macromedia, Inc. (Nasdaq:
MACR) Cold Fusion MX Server programming environment, in conjunction with the MySQL
relational database management software. The multi-user Web application shall operate
on a dedicated server platform running the Apache Web server software. The ITS software
will be accessible from the department’s intranet infrastructure which is securely
available to department staff.
