Database-Enabled Website for Public Opinion Research Firm
Los Angeles, Calif. -- AMULET Development Corp. announces the completion of the
new Advisory Panel website. AMULET services included back-end database design and
development for the site that attracts new panel members who participate in a variety
of interactive questionnaires for public opinion research studies. This site has
launched and may be located at www.AdvisoryPanel.com.
The Advisory Panel website allows prospective panel members to join the group by
supplying background information that the member may update when needed. Periodically,
panel members are asked to complete web-based questionnaires, and in return enter
a contest for cash prizes. The Advisory Panel was founded in 1995 and consists of
a group of individuals located worldwide who have agreed to give their opinions
on a variety of topics, ranging from social and political issues to fashion and
entertainment. There are about two topics per month. All prizes are chosen randomly
from among those responding.
The Advisory Panel website is a Web property of Impulse Research Corp., a Los Angeles
based public opinion research firm with both U.S. and International interests.
AMULET’s Role in Development
AMULET Development added Web database functionality on top of the existing Advisory
Panel website design. AMULET designed the underlying relational database structure,
and implemented server-side programming components coupled with a Web-based user
security/authentication mechanism to support the company’s online opinion research
business. The development was an all-Microsoft technology solution including: Windows
2000, the IIS 5.0 Web server, the Active Server Pages (ASP) programming environment
using ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) data connections, and the Access database.
A Word from AMULET’S CEO
"The Advisory Panel website development represents a custom expansion project based
on our experience around providing database-enabled solutions for businesses requiring
a Web presence," say Dan D. Gutierrez, AMULET’s CEO.
