AMULET Selected for Development of GreatDomains.com

The Internet's #1 Domain Name Broker and Marketplace

Los Angeles, Calif. -- AMULET Development Corp. is very pleased to announce our having been selected for further development of the Great Domains web site, found at www.GreatDomains.com. The purpose of this site is to afford companies and individuals the ability to sell and/or purchase domain names, web sites and Internet-based businesses held at on-line auctions. GreatDomains.com created the procedures by which these sales are handled. Domain names are among the most sought after real estate in high-tech economy. Founders Jeff Tinsely and Steve Newman are licensed Real Estate Brokers. The site's most recent statistics are:

143,770 names and web sites
Average listing price: $32,338
Average selling price: $14,500
Estimated value of listed names: $2,084,665,000

The supply of domain names is limited to those registered with Network Solutions, the registration service associated with the National Science Foundation. The domains selected are those considered to have the highest potential value at auction.

GreatDomains.com provides toll free offer assistance, domain names without sites, brokering domain names acquired since 1996, and full service brokerage for transactions including contracts and escrow. Users may register at either GreatDomains.com or affiliate Register.com, sign on to their existing account directly, create a free account to add/modify/delete domain listings in their on-line portfolio, or participate in on-line auctions.

Cash, equity and future revenue participation are considered at the Web site. The featured showcase offers brief descriptions and asking prices. Domain name, last bid, and auction end date are titled for each of the 226 records currently available on domain names for sale. An auction end date is set provided the reserve has been met.

AMULET’s Role in Development

AMULET Development plans to use its in-demand niche expertise in Microsoft Web technologies to build major new components for the GreatDomain.com Web site. Specifically, the company shall define and implement special business logic for automating the electronic interaction between the buyers and sellers of domain names. The technologies that will play an important role in this development are: Active Server Pages (ASP), an active server component for SMTP mail transmission, SQL Server 7.0, Windows NT 4.0, and the Microsoft IIS 4.0 Web server. AMULET performs all development and maintenance tasks remotely, via the Internet, against the GreatDomains.com development and production Web and database servers.

A Word from AMULET’S CEO

Dan D. Gutierrez, AMULET’s CEO, is excited about the project. "We are quite pleased to be chosen by GreatDomains.com for the continued development and enhancement of their domain name auction site. The project falls directly in line with the emphasis we’ve recently placed on B2B (business-to-business) eBusiness technology and specifically auction sites. It was fortunate that the company desired a Microsoft Web technology solution since AMULET specializes in building such sites. It's also great to be developing for a hot new 'dot com' startup firm like GreatDomains."

“We needed to complement our traditional catalog sales with a scalable e-commerce solution. We’ve been very pleased with our selection of Microsoft Commerce Server, and specifically AMULET’s ability to develop many custom features within this environment. The AMULET engineering team proved to be real pros. Highly recommended.”
